Pictures from Wilderness Resort and Dixie Stampede

We went to the the Science Museum in Oak Ridge, TN. It was very interesting.
This is in the indoor water park at our hotel. There was a wave pool, four huge water slides, a surfing simulator and a water playground.

Ben in the wave pool.

This is one part of the outdoor water park at our hotel. There was this huge bucket on top of this contraption and when it would fill up, it would turn over and send a deluge on top of anyone below! The bucket starts to pour down...

When the big bucket dumped out, it would knock you down?!?!

Scott is playing basketball in the outdoor pool.

We did not get many pics of the Dixie Stampede, but it was a lot of fun and here the kids are cheering for their team (South) as the riders are competing in different contests.

Here is Ben at the outdoor water park. There were several water slides and a huge pool, too.

John did not like the water very much.

great week

We have been traveling this week. Monday we left for Chattanooga and then on Tuesday up to Gatlinburg. Our hotel was the Wilderness Resort in Sevierville and it had 2 water parks connected to the hotel. When we arrived about noon on Tuesday, the kids quickly hit the outdoor water park. They had a blast! Then on Tuesday night we went to the Dixie Stampede which is a dinner show inside this huge agri-center looking building where much of the show is on horseback. The food was really delicious - I think the best meal we had on the whole trip.
The kids said this was one of the favorite things that we did.
On Wed. morning we went to the hotel's indoor water park and it was twice as big as the outdoor one and the water slides in it were huge and scary looking. The kids loved this one too!
Then on Wed. afternoon we headed to Dollywood. After roller coasters and water rafting rides and eating junk food we collapsed on Wed. night.
Thursday we headed back to Dollywood for another round of roller coasters, water rides and junk food ($5 for an ice cream cone :0 !! and this time we relaxed a bit and saw a couple of shows. One was Chris and Martin Kratt from the PBS show Zooboomafoo and the other was a fifties show. They were both good.
We went to a science museum near Knoxville on Friday and then drove home.
Our kitchen is in disarray as our cabinets are being refinished and we are having some painting done, so I feel we have come home to chaos!! But, I am thankful to be at home again and to trying to put everything back together again and start getting ready for school which will start in about 9 days?!?!?!?

The parade

Scott's Mom, Jean

Jay is enjoying the festivities.

We spent the 4th in Booneville at Scott's Mom's house. Her neighborhood has done a parade for the past 30 years or so. We enjoyed spending the day with some of Scott's family.

On Anna's actual birthday, we were in Mempho visiting my sister. Brooklyn went with us and we went to the pink palace and planetarium, and to the Incredible Pizza Company. It was a very cool place similar to the Disney 50s diner. There were go carts, bumper cars, mini golf and bowling on the inside of this huge building along with every game you can think of. We could not even play them all in 90 minutes!

We went skating the next day and then heading back home. It was a fun time!

Last weekend my brother Hule and his wife Loretta and my other brother Jerry and his wife Rosella and their sons Jeremy and Joseph and Jeremy's fiance Lindsay and my sister Cathy and her friend, Jim and her grandson, Bailey and Mom and Dad all came down for the day.
Hule was in MS for the weekend so we spent Friday and Sunday at Mom's.

Anyway, we had a great visit and I was sad when everyone had to go home :(
I am grateful for my siblings and their spouses and their influence on me through the years. They all love the Lord and I am thankful to Him for redeeming all of us!
