Is it any wonder he is now a husky??

Ben also requested spicy rice and he looooves hash brown casserole :)

Ben had a very healthy birthday dinner :) He chose fried okra, hushpuppies, fried chicken and hash brown casserole. I decided to make a salad to try to at least counterbalance the grease a little! Mom, Nana and Erin came down for the evening and we had a good time visiting with them. Ben also wanted chocolate mint ice cream, whipped cream and cherries for dessert.
And not nairy a dish was organic!!!
He asked for money this year and he bought several webkins and books. He is saving some of his money for later. Ben has had a growth spurt lately and NONE of his clothes fit. I even bought him some jeans last spring on clearance and they will not even button. I bought him shoes today and he wears an 8 in men's sizes.

I am thankful for my eldest son and I pray that God will rescue his soul and use him for His glory.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Mom and 2 of her grand daughters!
Jennifer and Jessica were able to come down for the party. Jessica and Jared were married in Destin, FL just a couple of weeks later.

Mom and her girls. I had fun decorating for her party. We surprised her with balloons and flowers!

Mom and her baby boy!! :)

I am sure this year's birthday was difficult for Mom without Dad. 59 years plus of birthdays celebrated with her true love and for this one, he is gone. I must say that Daddy's death is finally starting to sink in for me. It was such a shock and so hard to believe at first. I find myself really missing him alot lately. I know the holidays will be sad for us all.

I thought scrapbooking was hard....

So. far. behind. with. blogging. I do not think I shall ever catch up.

Mom's birthday....Yellowstone.....Ben's birthday....Lots and lots and lots of Spartan pics.. just a few of the highlights of the past months. Maybe....just maybe....I can catch up.
I changed to blogging thinking it would be easier to record family and friend happenings...
