Last Tuesday, Scott and I spent most of the morning driving around to courthouses picking up petitions and at 5:30 that night, I talked to Heather and she said "We had enough." Sweet words! There were enough signatures in each congressional district to have the Personhood ammendment put on the ballot in 2011 so that the people of Mississippi can vote on the abortion issue. I am so thankful to God for His kindness in this matter! It was truly His hand in this that there were enough signatures.
There will be some legal battles, but hopefully Mississippi will be the first state to have a constitutional ammendment declaring an unborn baby as a person.
Scott's brother, Eddy, passed away a couple of weeks ago and of course our lives have been topsy turvy since that time. I would ask for you to continue to pray for Scott's mom and Eddy's daughter, Erin as they especially are hard hit by this loss.
On another note, I have really been enjoying jogging! I am on a plan that I got from Roan, and I am up to where I am running 6.5 minutes, walking 1 minute and repeating that 4 times. I am still going at quite a slow pace. I have improved on my time though. When I first started , I ran about an 18 minute mile, then a 17 minute one and now I am down to a 13.5 minute mile. SOOO slow for all you experienced runners, but I am improving and feeling better than I have in years!!
God is blessing our family greatly with wonderful Bible studies at home, convicting AND comforting sermons at church and last Saturday a blessed bridal shower with a talk from Mrs. Kathy. I am so thankful for so many women in my life who truly love Christ and challenge me to
go to Him daily for all that I need.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." Ephesians 1:3

Life is good
A busy week following a busy week - but life is good and the Lord is merciful and gracious and answers prayers!
Last week my wonderful husband graciously allowed me to accompany my pastor's wife down to Hattiesburg to work on the Personhood Mississippi petition drive. The deadline is quickly approaching (Feb 13)and we are very close to the 89,000 signatures needed to get the abortion issue on the ballot. We had a great time visiting and the Lord answered our prayers for guidance and direction.
This week I am back to a normal (what's that??) week at home. My prayers are with several ladies in our church who are down in south Mississippi again this week petitioning in front of grocery stores and restaurants on behalf of the unborn who have no voice, who have no choice.
Please join me in praying for this effort and if you know any pastors in south Mississippi or the delta area of MS, please give them a call and ask them if they have given their congregation a chance to sign the petition. They can go to personhoodmississippi.com to print out petitions and church information packets.
